Intro

Artemis Pet Care YYC is a locally owned, LGBTQ+-led pet care company providing calm, reliable, no-frills care to pets across Calgary.
We’re always happy to hear from experienced, dependable pet care providers who value communication, consistency, and treating both pets and clients with respect.

Who This Is For

This role is a great fit if you:

  • Take pride in doing the “simple things” really well

This is not a fit if you’re looking for:

  • Guaranteed hours
  • Last-minute, one-off gigs only
  • Employee benefits or reimbursement for expenses

What You'd Be Doing

Contractors may provide:

  • Private dog walks
  • Drop-in visits
  • In-home overnight pet sitting

All services are booked and managed through our scheduling app, with clear SOPs and communication standards in place.

What We Look For

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on pet care experience
  • Reliable vehicle + valid driver’s licence
  • Strong written communication
  • Calm, dependable, and punctual
  • Comfortable caring for dogs, cats, and small animals
  • Willing to follow company policies and SOPs
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Own pet care / business liability insurance (required for contractors)

Pet First Aid & CPR is a strong asset (or willingness to obtain it).

Pay Structure

 

  • This is an independent contractor role
  • Pay is flat-rate per service, not hourly
  • Contractors receive 100% of tips
  • Rates and payment details are shared after initial screening

 

Our Hiring Process

We use a multi-step process to make sure expectations are clear on both sides:

  1. Email application screening

  2. Short virtual interview

  3. In-person meet & greet / trial walk

Meet & greets are required before working with any new client.
